Hello! I’m Jiwon

I’m a UX/product designer, doodler, bird-loving introvert (ask me about Northwest birds! 🙂)

Over the past 2+ years, I’ve been a senior designer at a startup called Ikigai tech where we focus researching and developing using Web3 technologies. Being in a startup came with several challenges that I never got to experience in more established big tech companies but it also gave me the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and grow.

Prior to being a designer for Ikigai Tech, I was in a design team at Disney Enterprise team where I helped development teams troubleshoot and improve faulty UX features, improve on UI to make it intuitive for end users, and develop new ways to restrict potentially harmful materials and ads.

The learnings that I applied to Ikigai tech and Disney were all taught from none other than Microsoft. While at Microsoft, I was creating new and delightful experiences to help users understand what exactly Microsoft 365 is, what sort of plan is best for them, and ultimately how they can purchase the subscription.

I also took on numerous illustration requests for Office insider at Microsoft to help out with various campaigns ran by a number of different Project managers and content teams. I actually volunteered for this role because I love creating illustrations! 🤘

When I’m not working, I like to unwind by cuddling with my dog (he’s a corgi and makes a GREAT heated pillow), photograph birds out in my backyard, or chase the night skies for deep sky objects (living in Washington has perks, we have relatively clear skies to see the stars even in the city region.)
